The Stagey Place

With this year's Edinburgh Fringe finishing up on it's first week of performances, it means only one thing... Episode 2 of Fringe Bites! With five more companies joining us in this episode, and whether it's a queer body swapping fiasco, an eerie laundrette meet-cute, or a story of a dog who's also a mayor (yeah, it's a true story!), we hope that there's something for you to engage with and book for if up at the fringe this year!

With this year's Edinburgh Fringe kicking off in just a matter of days now, we are thrilled to be releasing the first episode of Fringe Bites, our revised Edinburgh Fringe Series, now in its fifth year, and to kick us off, we have a wonderful bunch of creatives, emerging and established, talking through their processes in taking up a show to Edinburgh!

Tom Brennan, Writer of Overtone, Playing at Pleasance Dome (Jack Dome), from 5th - 30th August (14:40 - 15:40).
Matthew Howell, Co-Writer and one of the Performers in The Librarians: A Very Serious Comedy, playing at Pleasance Courtyard (Pleasance Two), from 5th - 31st August (15:15 - 16:15).
Maddie Rice, Co-Writer and one of the Performers in Goodbye Dandelion, playing at Underbelly Cowgate (Belly Dancer), from 5th - 31st August (16:10 - 17:10).

Joining Eliott in the Stagey Studio this week is Joe Murphy, The Birmingham Rep's newest Artistic Director, who joins us to chat through some of the exciting productions that will be gracing the midlands stage in 2026/2027, including a regionally inspired Shakespearian classic, a hotly anticipated Sondheim revival, and a co-production with Leeds and Nottingham Playhouse.
