Episode 118 I Gillian Greer

Joining Eliott in the Stagey Studio this week is Writer, Adaptor, and Dramaturg, Gillian Greer, who this Autumn is bringing Eliza Clark's Best Selling Novel, Boy Parts, to the stage with this adaptation, playing at The Soho Theatre until 25th November 2023!
In this episode, Gillian talks about the process behind bringing a novel to the stage, her work as Dramaturg on Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder, why she feels 'The Blueprint Concept' is vital for any Stage Adaptation, plus we ask Gillian the all important question... Where is your Stagey Place?

Episode 117 I Maimuna Memon

Joining guest host Sam Pout in the Stagey Studio this week is Performer & Singer Songwriter Maimuna Memon, who brings their Edinburgh Fringe 2022 show, Manic Street Creature, which was awarded a Fringe First at the festival, now to The Southwark Playhouse Borough, from 19th October - 11th November 2023!
In this episode, Maimuna talks candidly about juggling the role of Producer, Creator, and Performer in the piece when the show was up in Edinburgh, what audiences can expect from this updated production, over a year since it last was last performed, the importance of striving for the thing you are most passionate about, and as always on the podcast, we pose the question, 'Where is Your Stagey Place?'.

Episode 116 I James Fritz

Joining Eliott in the Stagey Studio this week is James Fritz, the Writer behind The Fall, Ross & Rachel, Lava, and now The Flea, a theatrical retelling of the Cleveland Street Scandal, which is premiering at The Yard Theatre in London, from 11th October - 18th November.
In this episode, James talks about the process behind writing his plays, with emphasis of rewriting, how Lava (a play first written in 2018) became a huge cultural read throughout the pandemic, plus as usual, we'll be asking James just where his Stagey Place is...

Episode 115 I Butchered

After being nominated for 'Best Show of The Week' at this year's Vault Festival, alongside an OffFest nomination, and being award 'Best Sound Design' in this year's 'Stagey Place X Ed Fringe' awards, Nic Lawton and Ez Holland, who make up 'Expial Atrocious', join Eliott in the Stagey Studio this week to discuss their creepy horror production, Butchered, which is heading out on tour later this month to coincide with Halloween.
In this episode, Nic and Ez talk about the inspiration behind the show, how they very early on acted as each others characters, why games like 'Five Nights at Freddy's' and 'Little Nightmares' inspired their gruesome sound design, plus as usual on the podcast, we'll get to find out just where exactly Nic and Ez's Stagey Places are...

After a short break cleansing off what was a mammoth time at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Stagey Place is back, and joining Eliott this week are Rachel Bellman and Jasmine Teo, Writer and Director of These Demons, which is being staged at Theatre503 from 26th September - 14th October 2023!
